John Romero has been a Game Designer, Level Designer and Game Programmer almost all his life since the age of 11. He started programming games on the Apple II and since then has coded games on systems like the Commodore 64, DOS PC, NeXTSTEP, Atari Jaguar, SNES, XBOX, PS2, mobile phones (BREW, Symbian) and Windows. John was born on October 28, 1967 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His parents, Virginia and Alfonso moved back to their hometown of Tucson, Arizona a mere five months after having John(ny). John's mother divorced and remarried John Schuneman in 1976 and they've been married ever since. John and his brother Ralph (his only sibling) moved to Rocklin, CA in 1976 where they lived until moving to England in January 1983. John lived in Swavesey and Needingworth while going to high school at Alconbury High on the US military base RAF Alconbury.

John has been a big fan of Wikis and the internal Gauntlet:Seven Sorrows Wiki turned into an excellent online store of game design information during the game's development. John is currently implementing a Wiki at his new game company for his new project.
