What is ROME.RO?

ROME.RO is The Romero's (aka John Romero) personal website that contains information about his life, the games he created, a community forum, photo album, chat room, game music, etc. You can visit the ROME.RO site HERE.

The main page of ROME.RO is the navigation page and also contains the latest news that John is interested in talking about. There are links to the main areas of the site, the biggest being the GAMETALK forums and GAMES section.

Old news is in an archive and there is a links page to places that John thinks you should see. The ROME.RO site dates back to 2001 and the forums opened in 2002.


Current projects on the ROME.RO site are:

  • This wiki!
  • New game pages (Congo Cube is the most recent, Pyramids of Egypt is in progress)
  • Online store (Before John sells anything on eBay, he'll put it up here first)


There are also some other non-linked pages that John has on the site:

  • UTD Class page - John taught a class one semester at the University of Texas in Dallas
  • Hummer page - out of date; John doesn't have his Hummer anymore
  • Ferrari page - John sold his Ferrari Testarossa in 2002 and this was the page used to sell it
  • CrateMaze.com - an old web domain John used to own. It was funny......for about 5 people.
